Three times the Diwali, half the hours.

A young D2C snacking brand that took on established giants with a digital-first strategy, and won a Diwali. Then the SKUs multiplied, the marketplaces multiplied, and the hours went into inwarding rather than selling.

About the brand

Healthier snacking, against deeper pockets.

The Ministry of Nuts is a young D2C snacking brand launched in November 2020 and online from May 2021, founded by Ravi Dubey, a computer science graduate who ran managerial roles at leading digital marketing agencies before moving into food. The goal is to meet the nation’s demand for healthier snacking with an affordable, diverse range: premium nuts, nut butters, dried fruits and berries, and gift hampers. It went up against established giants through digital positioning, won its maiden Diwali on its own Shopify store, then diversified to the marketplaces and watched volume climb.

The challenge

Time and cost, leaking at the warehouse.

As orders crossed the point where manual work stopped being viable, the brand, without an automated enablement solution, was working around five gaps.

01

Inventory nobody could update

The team could not track, review and update inventory across partner warehouses in six cities and a growing marketplace list.

02

SKUs multiplying unaccounted

Unaccounted SKU proliferation made it impossible to segment and categorise products, or measure SKU performance to optimise stock and storage.

03

Spoilage and expiry

Product spoilage and expiry was eating revenue with nothing tracking batch numbers and dates.

04

No system of record for couriers

Retaining control of courier partners, and a record of every order fulfilled, was not possible.

The solution

Expiry reports, courier masters, and Tally in sync.

The team searched for a solution that would fix what they faced and forewarn them of what was coming. This is the loop it runs now.

EasyEcom — SKUs mapped, expiry seen, couriers chosen

EasyEcom is a great software, and the best part about it is that it provides hassle-free integrations across marketplace, couriers, accounting, payment processing and overall operational activities. This has smoothened our processes, with productivity shooting up 50% while lowering our running costs by 44-46%. While snags are at a minimum, we’ve always felt supported through the account manager and technical team’s responsiveness and troubleshooting capabilities.
