About the brand

Technology in the fabric, and finally in the fulfilment.

URTurms is an indigenous intelligent-apparel company that weaves technology into its product range: fabrics that keep the wearer sweat-free and cool, across tees, trousers, shorts, nightwear, thirty-day no-wash jeans and seven-day no-smell socks. Surender Singh, now CEO, was a customer in 2018 who saw the potential, acquired the company in 2022 and left corporate life to run it. The brand featured on Shark Tank India Season 3, took offers from three Sharks and closed a deal with the founder of Inshorts. It manufactures in-house and fulfils through Emiza.

The challenge

Automated already. Just not in sync.

As a digital-first brand, URTurms was no stranger to eCommerce automation, but the processes and systems in place did not sync up to the expected mark. Six problems followed, grouped here into four.

No bin-level visibility

Replenishment was delayed and listings went stale because inventory could not be seen at bin level.

QC-checked returns, unsold

Missing date parameters meant returned items that had passed QC never made it back into sellable stock, and the sales went with them.

Manpower and SKU blind spots

Manpower shortages slowed picking, sorting and packing, and with no SKU-level performance data the inventory was used suboptimally.

Last-mile breaches and disputed deductions

Delayed, error-prone last-mile processes breached shipping SLAs, and high returns came with disputes over extra and incorrect marketplace deductions.
