Xero inventory management.

Xero's tracked inventory values your stock for the accounts. It was never meant to run stock management across several warehouses, a storefront and a shelf full of marketplaces at once. EasyEcom does that part: one live count across every location and channel, synced in under 60 seconds. It then writes quantities, valuation and COGS straight back into Xero.

Why it matters

Why manage inventory outside Xero?

One count across every channel

Xero knows what you tell it. EasyEcom pools Amazon, eBay, your storefront, retail and every warehouse into one live count and pushes it everywhere in under 60 seconds.

Multi-location stock and real warehouse work

Bins, barcodes, batch and expiry, pick paths, cycle counts, stock in more than one place: none of which tracked inventory in Xero sets out to do.

Your books stay put

No migration and no new accounting system. Xero stays the ledger; EasyEcom just stops it from being typed in by hand.

FAQ

Common questions

Does Xero have inventory management?

Yes, in a limited, accounting-first form. Xero's tracked inventory holds items, records quantities and values them so your accounts and COGS are right. What it does not do is run stock operationally: there are no bins or barcodes, no batch or expiry tracking, no stock held across multiple warehouses, and no live sync of quantities out to your sales channels. That is the gap EasyEcom fills.

Can Xero track inventory?

It can track quantities and value for tracked inventory items in a single pool. It cannot tell you what is in which warehouse, on which shelf, or in which batch, and it will not update Amazon, eBay or your storefront when a unit is sold somewhere else. EasyEcom keeps the operational count across every location and channel and reports the resulting valuation back into Xero.

Is Xero good for inventory management?

For a single channel and a simple catalog, it is usually enough. Once you sell on more than one channel, hold stock in more than one location, or need barcode picking, batch and expiry, or assemblies and kits, Xero is the wrong layer for the job, because it is an accounting system rather than a warehouse system. Keep it for the books and run operations above it.

What inventory valuation method does Xero use?

Xero values tracked inventory using average cost. EasyEcom posts stock movements back in line with the method your Xero organization is set to, so valuation and COGS stay consistent no matter how many warehouses the stock actually moved through.

How do I adjust inventory in Xero?

In Xero, an inventory adjustment is a manual journal against the inventory account: fine occasionally, painful as a routine. With EasyEcom the adjustment happens where the stock does: a cycle count, damage write-off or return is recorded on the floor with its reason code, and the matching posting appears in Xero on its own.

How do I sync inventory from Shopify to Xero?

Through EasyEcom rather than store-to-books directly. EasyEcom sits between them: it syncs live stock and orders with Shopify and every marketplace you sell on, then posts the sales, inventory movements and invoices into Xero. The storefront, the warehouse and the ledger all carry the same number.

See stock run itself, and Xero keep up.
